The Road to Certified Wireless Network Expert (CWNE) - THE Wi-Fi TRACK
To become a Certified Wireless Network Expert (CWNE) out of CWNP Inc, USA. there is a clear study path to earn this prestigious title..
The CWNE study track is a four layer model:
The first layer starts with two entry level certifications.
ENTRY LEVEL:
- Certified Wireless Specialist (CWS):
The CWS certification track provides you the knowledge of 802.11 Wireless LAN (WLAN) hardware and software in relation to selection and features of such equipment.
You will learn about the basic operations of 802.11n wireless hardware and software and understand how to select the right solution based on organizational requirements.
or
- Certified Wireless Technician (CWT):
The CWT certification track provides you with the knowledge you need to perform installation, configuration and basic troubleshooting tasks related to WLAN technologies.
You will learn about the basic operations of 802.11 wireless hardware and software and understand how to install, configure and troubleshoot it based on design requirements.
Newbies, non-techies, project managers and technical sales professionals should start with CWS or CWT to learn the basics of wireless technology.
The second layer starts with one foundational level certification.
FOUNDATIONAL LEVEL:
- Certified Wireless Networks Administrator (CWNA):
The CWNA certification track provides you the knowledge of 802.11 Wireless LAN (WLAN) hardware and software in relation to administration installation and WLAN administrator.
You will learn about the operations of 802.11 wireless hardware and software in enterprise environments as well as troubleshooting, design and analysis tools.
Network engineers and administrators begin with CWNA to gain the foundational knowledge required to implement and manage enterprise Wi-Fi
CWNA is required for Certified Wireless Security Professional (CWSP), Certified Wireless Analysis Professional (CWAP), Certified Wireless Design Professional (CWDP) and Certified Wireless Network Expert (CWNE)
The third layer starts with a three professional level certifications: secure, troubleshoot and design.
SECURE LEVEL:
- Certified Wireless Security Professional (CWSP):
The CWSP certification track provides you the knowledge real-world skills related to security in 802.11 network and who can assist in the creation and implementation of an organization’s enforceable security policy by following applicable regulations, standards, and accepted best practices, mitigate threats to a wireless network, uses appropriate tools and procedures to ensure the ongoing security of the network.
TROUBLESHOOT LEVEL:
- Certified Wireless Analysis Professional (CWAP):
The CWAP certification track provides you in-depth understanding of protocols, frame exchanges, standards, the Physical Layer, and MAC sublayer and use of spectrum and protocol analysis tools.
DESIGN LEVEL:
- Certified Wireless Design Professional (CWDP):
The CWDP certification track provides you the knowledge to manage the entire WLAN design life cycle: defining, designing, deploying, and diagnosing include gathering necessary information and requirements, creating a design, implementing the network, and validating and optimizing to ensure objectives are met.
The fourth layer starts with a broaden level certification.
BROADEN LEVEL:
- Certified Wireless IoT Solution Administrator (CWISA):
The CWISA certification track provides you the knowledge to implement, administer, and troubleshoot technologies that heavily rely upon, or directly integrate with, wireless systems in the enterprise, government, and manufacturing environments and is able to install, customize, and coordinate appropriate solutions to meet an organization’s requirements and constraints.
Wireless professionals must grasp the most frequently used wireless IoT solutions in organizations before becoming a Certified Wireless Network Expert (CWNE)
In summary: To earn the Certified Wireless Network Expert (CWNE) you have to earn three professional level certifications + Certified Wireless Networks Administrator (CWNA) + Certified Wireless IoT Solution Administrator (CWISA).
